Embracing imperfect

Three reasons you should fall in love with sucking at things:

1. Sucking at something is the only way to start getting better at it.

2. Learning how to do something trivial poorly (like a new hobby) and forgive yourself/not give yourself shit for sucking at it is a great way to learn how to go easy on yourself and more serious areas of life.

3. Sucking at something breeds humility and teaches us how to get over the obsession with looking good and being perfect.

What if every child was praised for trying hard and failing instead of praised only when they got something correct?

What if we started teaching the next generation that curated social media lives Are not fat but rather fiction and that the people behind them have often failed many more times than they’ve actually succeeded?

What if you start it by being a role model for all of the people around you and put down your mask of perfectionist that’s really just covering your fear of looking bad and fear of failing?

What if everyone embraced everyone’s imperfectness?

What a world this would be ❤️
