TIP: WARM THE FUCK UP BEFORE YOU RUN! It sounds so simple but it took me a month and shin splints to figure it out. Just doing a five minute walk , then stretch has helped immensely to ward off the shin splints. Beginning runners, write the alphabet with your toes befor eand after each run to strenthen and stretch your shins and calves. Its been a life saver.
Six Miles today! Six! And I killed it! I kept a pretty even pace it seemed like and I have been working a lot on using my butt for speed instead of my calves. Shins felt great.
